they're doing an offer at the mo –

My hair has been going white since i was 15 - now at 52 it is nearly 100% and glints like real silver in the sun - why colour?? On holiday I got asked which colouring product I use!!
One gripe though Dove - no product range for my 'colour' !
To anyone trying to decide whether to colour or not - just think of all the time, effort and money you will save if you don't - spend the cash on a really good cut and stop worrying about your roots!!
the more i think about it the more I think - I LOVE my white hair!!

My grandma used to have her hair dyed, but now she just leaves it.
Whichever way she has it, I won't judge her because she is a happy, funny and smiley person and I love being around her.
Who cares what you look like? I think we should just embrace our body as we were given it.
My grandma is beautiful, and I love her!
Besides, older women are just as beautiful as young models, if not prettier, as their lifelong gain of wisdom is displayed in their calm and smiling faces!

Remember The Old Woman On The Titanic?...She Took Out Her Clip And Her Long Whitey Hair Fell Down Her Back...
Now I Thought That Was Beautiful.
On The Other Hand..Even Older Women With Coloured Hair Are Beautiful..
Like My Nan..At 68 She Loves Having Her Hair Done And Painting Her Toenails.
Whatever Age You Are, You Will Always Be Beautiful
Love You Nan

I have just had hi-lights and low-lights put into my hair and it has greatly reduced the amount of grey hair visible as it blends in so well. But, to be honest, I love silver/grey hair, it's just the in between stage that I don't like.

I think most people dont want to have grey hair to be honest. At 43 your mum is on the young side to be having a head of grey hair so I can understand why she feels negative about it. I dont think theres anything wrong with that aslong as its not an obsession for her. What tends to be a more natural and easier to maintain look as we get more grey though is to go lighter in the shade we dye our hair then greys will blend in much better and there wont be as much need for dyeing the hair as often :)

I am 17. My mother, who is 43 and constantly worrying about the way she looks, dyes her hair to cover up greys.
I have done everything I can to fix this. I have told her she looks great with her natural salt-and-pepper waves. I have shown her the Dove shampoo ads in magazines featuring women with gorgeous silver hair. I have even made her a deal: If she stops dying her hair, I'll put a big silver streak in mine!
She uses the excuse "I want to look as young as I feel." While this is a cute sentiment, doesn't it imply that feeling young and feeling good are inseparable?
personally, I think that "looking as young as you feel" is just anotherway for skin care companies to sucker aging women into buying their anti-aging products.
What can I do to convince my Mom to look her age with confidence?

I couldn't agree more. What a freedom! At 44 I am only now starting to see that feeling good is within and that character exudes itself through poise and confidence. Let's not only teach our daughters to love themselves but also our sons to appreciate beauty in all its forms.

Can i just say after reading all thre discussion forums this one is obviously the one filled with wisdom and true beauty. There is no bickering, no jealousy and no bitternes! Well done ladies! Something else i think that can be added to your argument that older is wiser is beautiful.
I look forward to ageing gracefully.

Are you a hairy woman or do you have a hairy child or teenager?
In the UK we are obsessed with hairiness-or rather our desire to make ourselves hair free. Every year women spend £280 million on hair removal products!
The BBC are making a programme on Hairy women that will go on a journey to find out why women feel they have to remove all the hair on their body.
Do you spend time and money removing your body hair?
Or do you feel proud of your body hair and refuse to conform to society’s ideals of beauty?
Or are you a man who loves or hates hair on women?
Upon contact there is no obligation to take part in the programme.

Beauty is relative to one's perception. I am getting older, and I find myself to be more beautiful. I refuse to pander to the idea that I must look 21 for my entire life. This idea is male propagated, and I will have no part of it! What I belive would be a fabulous expression of equality would be for the real women campaign to offer photos of older, overweight, balding men using the lotion. If we can convince men that we find them to be more attractive as they age, then maybe they will give us a break. As I turned 43, it has become brutally apparent that young skin is wasted on the youth. Thank-you, Dove for the real women campaign. It has brought me hope for a more realistic society, and a clear understanding of our contribution to it.

Older women are often the most beautiful; their wrinkled skin in a sign of a fully lived life, not the constant perfectionism thrown at younger generations. They are naturally beautiful, when they were young there was not the oppertunity to have a face lift, so they must have done somthign right.

I think older women are more beautiful than alot of younger women, women in there 30s,40s,and 50s can be stunning, they also have lifes experiences behind them.I feel more beautiful now than i am in my 30s then when i was in my teens.I am more confident about myself and confidence can make you feel beautiful.
